Our iron filter is a manganese green sand filter that uses the oxidation filtration method of iron removal. Iron sulfur and manganese are oxidized and trapped by the greensand media. Trapped minerals are backwashed out the drain.

The filter media is periodically regenerated automatically by introducing potassium permanganate to the media. System repeats this process over and over again. System is fully automatic. You need not do anything except add potassium permanganate.

McCullough Chlorination/De-chlorination is the Logical Solution for most well waters with multiple problems such as bacteria, sulfur, sulfide odors, high iron.

How It Works:

• As water flows, chlorine is injected into the water supply.
• The now chlorinated water stays in the 120 gallon contact tank to allow the chlorine to work.
• Next the water goes through an activated carbon backwash system to remove excess chlorine and filter out bacteria, sulfur, and/or iron.
• The water then is run through a water softener.
• Water that you get is then odor free, iron free, and bacteria free.
